O2 Simplicity explained

Posted by Rich

I’ve heard a lot of comments and questions and an overall confusion about this new deal byO2. But In reality though, its simple and easy to understand. Simplicity was launched Mid 2007 but has only just been hitting the press in the UK hard over the last few weeks or so.There are 3 key features:

  • No lengthy contract, just a month at a time.
  • You can keep your existing number, even if on a different network.
  • Cheapest rates yet by O2.

Will I get a free phone?

This question is asked a lot.. And the answer is…. No, you don’t. The idea of this is that you use your existing phone, saving yourself money and time.

The tariff saves yourself and o2 money, as well as helping the environment. Holding onto your existing mobile saves 7.5kg of CO2. Enough energy to fill 34 beach balls.

Added bonus is that they will donate £5 to the O2 Energy Saving Fund for every simplicity connection made. Find out more

Contract

The main thing about this tariff is that your not tied down to your standard 18 month contract, with simplicity you just pay (Via Direct Debit) for a month at a time. You can cancel whenever your like (30 days notice) and you can also upgrade to another tariff whenever your choose.

Keep your existing number

When you subscribe to simplicity, you can keep your existing number, be it a contract number or pay-as-you-go. (If on a different network, make sure you get a PAC code before porting your number)

The port process usually takes up to 7 working days to come into effect. In the mean time, you will be given a temporary number so you can still use your inclusive minutes and messages.

Rates

Now because your providing your own phone for this contract, your saving yourself on average £15 a month compared to an £35+ 18 month contract and £10 on any lower 18 month contract.

Thats a saving of £270 a year for £35+ 18 month equivalent and £180 for 18 month equvalents under £35 / month

I hope this has cleared up a lot of questions regarding simplicity, if you have any questions about this, feel free to leave a comment and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
