Nokia Launches ‘Easy to be Green’ Video Campaign

Nokia’s environmental team are launching a series of videos to show us how using our mobile phones can help us have less of an impact on the environment around us.
The campaign is called ‘Easy to be Green’.

The first video is about “mobile Internet browsing” and has gone live already. It stresses how much more eco-friendly it is to use our mobile phones for internet browsing rather than desktop computers. For example, if 10% of the 1 billion Nokia users browsed on their phones for 1 hour a day rather than their desktop computer we could avoid 2.7 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

Nokia will be launching the other videos in the next couple of weeks.
The videos will discuss things such as:

* what kind of positive environmental impacts having everything in just one device can have
* how the mobile phone helps green travelling
* how to be more energy efficient with your mobile phone
* how mobile phone recycling gives your phone a second life.

They’re also planning to launch a contest for people’s own mobile eco ideas.
The best ideas will end up to animated films, along with additional prizes for the winners.
