The UK’s leading woodland conservation charity The Woodland Trust  has chosen mobile phone recycler Zonzoo to help it raise money through mobile phone recycling.   The UK is one of the least wooded countries in the whole of Europe and the Woodland Trust currently owns and cares for more than 1,000 woods.  They hope to double the woodland in the UK.

People who recycle their mobile phones on Zonzoo’s site will be given the option of either donating 5% or the total value of their old phone’s value to The Woodland Trust.

More than half a million trees are planted by the Woodland Trust every year and they want to get as many peole as possible involved in planting trees by planning events across the country.  The money raised through the partnership with Zonzoo and the Woodland Trust will be used to protect and manage our precious woodland for future generations.

Yasmine Davies, from the Woodland Trust said:
“The Trust is thrilled to be in partnership with Zonzoo which is doing an admirable job of recycling mobile phones, which may otherwise end up being dumped on landfill and polluting our natural environment.”
