An iPhone App to Make it Easier to Recycle

iPhone users in the US now have an app that makes recycling easier.

The app by earth911.com has been receiving good reviews and makes it easy to locate places for all manner of items that can be recycled.  It searches based on a preferred location that can either be a city or state or it could be near to the user’s current location.  For example, if someone wants to dispose of their old mobile phone all they need to do is type that in and a list of the places where the phone can be recycled will appear, with the nearest appearing first.  iRecycle also gives access to a database of current “green” news items and provides updates on related local events.

An alternative for those who cannot find a convenient place near them to recycle their mobile phone is to go online.  There are a growing number of mobile phone recycling websites that will send out an envelope to enable old phones to be posted back to them.  Once they receive the phone the recycling company will pay the user cash for the old phone.  To find out the best price available it is quick and convenient to visit a mobile phone recycling price comparison website.
