Upstream Worldwide Inc is a a direct-from-consumer reverse logistics recycler of electronics, such as mobile phones, and precious metals. The company uses direct-to-consumer advertising to contact consumers who are interested in liquidating unwanted items.  It has various different consumer websites worldwide.  It has just announced that it has allowed the letter of intent with Office Products Recycling Associates to expire and decided to focus on it’s core aim of being a direct-from-consumer reverse logistics company.

The recycling of consumer electronics such as mobile phones, PDAs and other handheld devices continues to exceed Upstream’s internal projects.  They see this direct-from-consumer logistics recycling as having massive potential for growth.

Doug Feirstein, the Chief Executive Officer of Upstream says:  “Based on the favorable response we have experienced from our early efforts in our new consumer electronics business along with our precious metals business, we feel it is in the best interest of our shareholders, to remain focused on our core channels and leverage our current resources to aggressively pursue these opportunities. Further, due to the significant size of these markets, we are continuing to explore all potential options and relationships to most effectively expand our market stance while best serving our customers.”
