Selling Mobile Phones Can Be a Minefield

There has never been more choice of willing buyers for those wishing to sell their old mobile phones.  However, with the explosion in the number of mobile phone recyclers, particularly online, there has been the inevitable entry of some players with dubious practices.

These can range from finding “faults” in the mobile phone to avoid paying the original price offered on the website to simply failing to reimburse the seller at all.  If the mobile phone is sent in with a flat battery and the phone cannot be switched on, some recyclers will view this as non-working and reduce the price offered accordingly.

Other mobile phone recycling companies take a long time to pay the seller and may require repeated chasing before they send the money.  In an extreme case, one company “ceased trading” and closed their website after enticing people to send them their mobiles by offering inflated prices.

By contrast there are very reputable mobile phone recyclers who operate an efficient, streamlined service and pride themselves on promptly paying sellers a competitive price for their phones.  To avoid being caught out by the industry bad boys, it is wise to check out who is paying the best price for your mobile through a price comparison site and then do some research online to see whether they have a good reputation.
