Mobile phone recycling may be soon set to gain further impetus following Tesco’s opening of their first dedicated mobile phone shop.

The first shop has opened in Broadmead, Bristol and has been a runaway success in its first 6 weeks.  Tesco has not yet indicated whether it plans to open more standalone mobile phone shops in other locations, but the notable success of the Bristol shop points to future openings elsewhere.

Tesco has reported that the new dedicated shop has outperformed all other in-store phone shops across the Tesco estate on contract sales.  With mobile phone recycling becoming increasingly easier for consumers through the explosion of different ways to sell old mobiles, Tesco’s success in gaining new mobile phone sales is likely to provide a boost to mobile phone recycling.

No doubt, many of Tesco’s customers will take advantage of Tesco’s own mobile phone recycling scheme, but many canny consumers go online and check out mobile phone cash back price comparison sites to secure the best deal.  In the case of recent smartphone models, such as the iPhone, there can we wide variations on the price paid.  Usually the faster people act to sell, the better the deal.
